To kick start our new blog, I wanted to share with you all a neat little idea that my boss discovered BY ACCIDENT!
If you don't know what the product pictured to the left is, Lickity Grip is a great tool to use for people who have to sort through large stacks of paper (teachers, this means you!) or fabric (yep, it works on fabric) because it makes it easier to sift through the multiple layers of whatever material you are working with; just rub a little between your fingers and you've got friction! (flashback to grade school science?)
So, my boss was working with fusible stabilizer and ironing it to a piece of fabric when she accidentally ironed on the wrong side of the stabilizer! Whoops! She needed to clean it off and she realized that Lickity Grip was a waxy substance - just like a lot of iron cleaners; so she put some Lickity Grip on a paper towel and rubbed it on the iron........ALL CLEAN! Who would have thought, right?!
LOL - well that's the weird factoid of the day: Lickity Grip works really well as an iron cleaner! I know, not very exciting, but it is still kind of cool! I hope you might find this little quirk useful!
In this blog, I hope to share a lot of useful tools and fun ideas with you all (they will get more exciting - I promise. Fun uses for office supplies are not what we will usually be sharing on here). I hope that you will follow this blog, and our other blog ( link at http://scrapandsew.blogspot.com/ ). We would love to hear from you so please send us a comment! We are also on Facebook and Pinterest so be sure to check us out there - I have provided links below!
Thanks so much!
Happy Sewing, everyone!
